What are you passionate about? What do you love to do? Do you play a musical instrument, or like to draw? Is there a physical activity that helps clear your mind, decompress from everyday routines?
For me it’s the Passaic Valley Rotary and the 5K River Run. The River Run is just one of the events we hold to raise funds to help others in our community. Last year, we used the entry fees for the River Run to help our neighbors in Little Falls and the Passaic Valley who were affected by superstorm Sandy.
The 5K River Run is in honor of Harold M. Schumacher, one of the founding members of our local Rotary Club chapter. From the first meeting in October 1946 until he passed away in 1998, Mr. Schumacher never missed a weekly meeting. He embodied “Service Above Self” in his personal life and as a Rotary Club member (and president, 1950-1951).
I have the honor of serving as president of the Passaic Valley Rotary Club and encourage everyone in Little Falls to participate in the 5K River Run (we have a race for kids too!) and other Rotary Club events. It’s a great way to help others in our neighborhoods. If you want more information, feel free to contact me here at my Little Falls dental practice by calling 855-466-6608.
