If you have missing teeth or wear full or partial dentures, you should learn about dental implants. Dental implants are permanent replacements for both the tooth and tooth root. As such, they can restore your health, function and appearance once and for all.
Versatile, dental implants can be used to replace a single tooth, multiple teeth and to securely hold implant-retained dentures in place. If you’re interested in having implants placed, I will refer you to a reputable oral surgeon for the first part of the procedure.
First, titanium posts that act as a tooth roots are surgically placed into your jaw bone. As the sites heal, the gum and bone attach to the titanium posts, securing them in place. When the sites are healed, you visit my Little Falls dental office where abutment posts are placed on the roots. Finally, I will create custom-made porcelain crowns or bridgework to be permanently seated on the posts. (At NO time during the process will you be without teeth.)
If you’ve been living with the embarrassment or discomfort of missing teeth or dealing with dentures, dental implants can change your life. With implants, you will no longer have to worry about loose dentures or bridges, or unattractive spaces in your smile. Implants restore your ability to eat, smile and speak with confidence and comfort. They eliminate the hassle of taking care of dentures every night. In fact, dental implants don’t require any special care; you just brush and floss like you do your natural teeth.
